  1. Effective at our October Club Meeting there will be a 20 peso charge for guests participating in our garden tour and/or attending our monthly meeting and luncheon.  Please review our guest policy and remember guests who are full or part time residents of Mexico are invited on a one time only basis to ascertain if they wish to join our group.  If they wish to return, they must return as members.
  2. It has been decided by your garden club board that dues for 2003 will once again remain at 100 pesos for an individual membership, 150 pesos for a couple membership, and 200 pesos for a membership that includes a third party in the same household.
  3. Nomination committee - Anyone interested in serving on the Board for 2003, please contact Don Parker at 766-1909.
  4. Early dues payment for 2003 may be made beginning at our October meeting.  Stop by the membership desk, please don't wait until the last minute to renew or to join.
  5. Anyone with a knack or an interest in writing articles for the web page please contact Pam Odgers.  Step forward, we can really use your help!
  6. Do you know how to use FrontPage?  Looking for help with the LCGC webpage, now or in the future.  Volunteers email membership@lakechapalagardenclub.com
  7. For years now, the LCGC has had the policy that outside organizations are not given "Podium Time" at monthly meetings. The reason is that if one organization is given the floor, all organizations must be given time, and this just isn't possible, or desirable. It is understood that when you come to a LCGC meeting, you'll attend a LCGC meeting and not be solicited, in any way, by any other organizations, no matter how worthy.
  8. This year the Lake Chapala Garden Club celebrates its 25th year! Congratulations, and happy anniversary.
  9. When visiting a garden on our monthly garden tour, we have been asked to remind our members to please show respect for the garden, the homeowner and the staff (maids and gardeners). Homes are really always off limits, so please do not even ask to see inside someone's home or to use their facilities. We do not want to lose the privilege of viewing gardens, and we have had some complaints. Be on your best behavior.
  10. Several Viveros have agreed to give our members a discount on plants and plant materials. Please present your "new" laminated LCGC Membership Card and a photo Identification when you want a discount.
  11. Membership cards are available for pick up from the Name Badge table at the meeting proceeding your membership renewal or initiation of membership.
  12. There is a 50 peso charge for lost membership cards. See membership table or email Membership@LakeChapalaGardenClub.com to request a replacement card.
  13. If you know of a garden that you would like to see on our monthly garden tours, please let us know at Programs@LakeChapalaGardenClub.com. This may be your own garden or a garden that you believe will be interesting to see.
  14. You probably already know this; the LCGC is open to membership to both men and women. Our membership is open to all!
  15. Our treasurer has requested that we ask our members to bring correct change so that paying for your lunches or renewing membership will be easier. Thanks, it does help.
  16. Plant Swap Table. Have an excess of plants? Thinning out your garden or removing plants that are no longer wanted? Bring your plants to the monthly meeting and share them with other members. This is a true plant swap, bring a plant, take a plant, so if you would like to go home with a plant, bring a plant and place it on the table.
  17. Members Only! Our monthly garden tours have been created for members only. OUR GUEST POLICY: Visitors (house guests) who are accompanied by members in good standing are welcome to attend LCGC events. Prospective members (residents) may come as a guest once a year. We will send information to members via email regarding gardens being presented, times and locations and directions. Those who are generous and gracious enough to allow our members access to their properties and gardens do not want these events open to the public. Bring your 2002 membership card for admittance.
  18. Reservations a Must. Reserve online with your reservation request no later than the Friday before the monthly meeting using our online reservation form, giving your name, the number in your party, and if you are bringing guests, their names.
  19. Cancellation/No-Show Policy: if you make an advance reservation and do not cancel by the Friday before the meeting, you may be charged, as La Nueva Posada in the past has charged us.
  20. Help Us Help Them Help You. If you plan on attending our meeting, we must know how many are in your party, as La Nueva Posada has to set up the correct number of tables, chairs, have waiters on hand, etc.
  21. Never call La Nueva Posada directly to make or change a reservation.
  22. Volunteers needed. Call your club president at (376) 766-1125 or send an email to President@LakeChapalaGardenClub.com and volunteer your time and talent.
  23. Suggestions? Have suggestions of any sort? Email to Suggestions@LakeChapalaGardenClub.com
  24. Did you know that the LCGC was founded in 1977?
